Takes the initiative for coordinating the development of products and services that meet corporate strategic goals, improve market share, and exceed customer expectations by developing and providing technological solutions that are unique and unrivaled in the marketplace. Assess and monitor the performance of assigned products in the marketplace and recommend actions and programs that enhance product performance and achieve strategic objectives. 1. Works with Product Planning and Engineering teams during all stages of the development of new products, including market, financial, engineering and and manufacturing aspects involved in planning and development. 2. Develop biannual executive assessments of EDT technology products, services, market status, sales results, and performance against objectives and create prioritized action plans in response to the assessments. 3. Provide high value technical sales support to worldwide Komatsu regional sales teams, global accounts teams, and distributors through day-to-day sales and marketing activities, product training, customer visits, competitive comparisons, job studies, and presentation to achieve sales and profit objectives. 4. Lead, coordinate, and execute new product introduction programs, including sales material, parts stock, advertising & promotion, competitive comparisons, training and sales support. 5. Conduct machine and customer surveys to determine customer needs, trends, opportunities and competitive information. Develop appropriate action plans based on survey results. 6. Recommend changes, improvements, modifications or deletions in assigned product or products, based on regular analysis of market trends and opportunities. 7. Develop and maintain highly effective sales tools for in-house training, distributor and customer presentations. To include brochures, specification sheets, product bulletins, marketing programs, communication plans and strategies video, trade shows, conventions, and Field Days. 8. Develop complimentary product knowledge and skills to be an effective member of the product management teams. (Enhances team capabilities through cross utilization).
