UnityPoint Health Patient Advocate in Peoria, Illinois

The Patient Advocate is responsible for coordinating a centralized complaint management system that efficiently and effectively eliminates or decrease barriers, which impedes patient satisfaction. This position coordinates the information flow between the organization customers and others in response to pride line and patient action line calls, Press Ganey surveys, letters, and staff and administration referrals.

Acts as the patient advocate by assisting patients to resolve dissatisfaction with the health care delivery system at MMCI. Serves as the initial contact for our “Pride line” and Patient Action Line calls.

Coordinates the complaint monitoring system, identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement.

Provides employee and patient focused outreach and support to target populations identified by administration as priorites

Coordinates the reimbursement process for patient related lost and found items.


Bachelor's Degree in the field(s) of nursing Preferred

Individuals hired after August 1, 2013 must obtain a BSN within 2.5 years of hire

Work Experience

5-7 years of experience in/with demonstrated strong clinical competence, preferably in an acute care setting, excellent People to People skills and demonstrated organizational skills Required.

License and Certification

Registered Nurse in the state of IL
