Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has an opening for a NPI/CPI service engineer located in Peoria, IL.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the electrical components team in all aspects of engineering work. This includes NPI, CPI, NTI, LCP, application support, maintenance, and legacy management. Collaboration with suppliers, electrical system engineers, and component engineers is key. Day to day tasks will vary and may include, but not be limited to: engineering notices, drawings, field return documentation & analysis, field reliability analysis, DVP&R development & execution, update of product line specifications/catalogs, and review/approval of application requests. Additionally, the candidate may manage implementation of minor design/process changes to improve quality and cost. Specific component product lines that will be supported include joysticks, shifters, CAN keypads & controls, lights, radios, gauges, and switches.

Desire prior professional experience in the field of electrical/electronic engineering or construction & mining equipment. Knowledge of: electrical/electronic components & test equipment, Caterpillar’s Engineering Data System, Caterpillar’s engineering standards & 1E specifications, engineering drawings, APQP, CPI, and lighting technologies. Experience with EMC testing and CAN protocol.

Typical Day

Day to day tasks will vary and may include, but not be limited to: engineering notices, drawings, field return documentation & analysis, field reliability analysis, DVP&R development & execution, update of product line specifications/catalogs, and review/approval of application requests. Additionally, the candidate may manage implementation of minor design/process changes to improve quality and cost. Specific component product lines that will be supported include joysticks, shifters, CAN keypads & controls, lights, radios, gauges, and switches. Candidate will be eligible for the 9/80 scheduled.

Education Requirement:

Requires an accredited associates or four year technology degree in an electrical/electronic or mechanical field of study.

Bachelor’s degree in an electrical/electronic or mechanical field of study preferred.

Technical Skills

Electronics troubleshooting, test planning & execution, drawing management. Preferred: Experience with APQP, CPI, and lighting technologies. Experience with EMC testing and CAN protocol.

Soft Skills

Teamwork, communication, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
