The Surface Mining and Technology Divisionis seeking a Commercial Manager to work within its Jobsite Solutions (JSS)group. In this role you will be responsible for partnering with Cat Financial,Caterpillar industry groups (GCI, Surface Mining & Technology, BCP), andthe dealers to directly sell solutions and services to the customer. You willensure the continued growth of JSS sales by directly managing a customerrelationships, dealer network, and sales pipeline. You will coordinate, develop,and implement North American sales strategies to directly sell $50Min total contract value per year by partnering with Cat Financial, Caterpillarindustry groups, and leveraging the dealer channel.

Job Duties/Responsibilitiesmay include, but are not limited to:

\

  • Selling $50M in contract valueannually (machines, parts, interest, services)

\

  • Growing profitable business and manage cost structure/business plans

\

  • Promoting business development inNorth America

\

  • Serving as liaison betweenCaterpillar Financial Services, DSDs, Industry Groups, and dealers

\

  • Planning and forecasting of North American business (focused on 1-2districts)

\

  • Interacting within amultifunctional team environment; using informal influence and direction toaccomplish team objectives through others

\

  • Working with customers and dealers to identify opportunities for financialand operational improvements; developing product- and services-based solutionsthat create value for all stakeholders (customers, dealers, Caterpillar)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

\

  • 10 years of progressively responsible related sales and product experience, preferably in solutions selling

\

  • Experience in Caterpillar product sales with proven commercial acumen in managing a sales pipeline

\

  • Experience in load & haul applications (Quarry & Aggregates, Cement, and/or Mining), waste industry, and/or agriculture industry

\

  • Experience negotiating contracts which create unique solutions to meet customers’ financial and operational needs

Top Candidates will also have:

\

  • Broad company knowledge and strong understanding of dealer operations

\

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to sales, marketing or finance

\

  • Experience in product support with an emphasis in lifecycle costing including maintenance & repair contracts

\

  • Proficient in solutions-based / consultative selling methodologies

\

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions

\

  • Experience building relationships across the extended enterprise to get access to the needed resources (customers, dealers, capabilities)

\

  • Communication & follow-up with all relevant stakeholders at all times

\

  • Superior commercial acumen in managing our sales pipeline from lead generation to opportunity closure

- Persistent communication and consistent follow-up on commitments

- Dynamic lead generation while demonstrating respect for others managing customer relationships

- Ability to assess opportunity quality and courage to act accordingly

\

  • Ability to articulate value in all that we propose across all stakeholders

- Requires a proper balance of financial & operational acumen

\

  • Thorough knowledge of company products and product applications, dealer network, merchandising programs, and/or warranty practices and procedures

\

  • Familiar with company policies and procedures with a strong department background

Additional Information:

This position requires up to 50% travel.

This position can be located within any US location and will ultimately be aligned within the North American District. As a result, relocation may be required based on current work location.
