Volt is currently seeking a Embedded Software Tester (dSpace).

Candidate Responsibilities

This position will provide integration test support for our Tractor product line.

Typical Day

  • Development, maintenance, and execution of automated regression tests in a dSPACE Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) test environment utilizing both test automation tools (such as Automation Desk) and/or Python scripting languages Debugging system and software issues found in Lab or Proving Ground environments and ensure timely resolution of resulting machine software issues Maintenance and troubleshooting of test bench hardware & software issues Working with internal suppliers to integrate plant models of machine hardware that provide broader coverage of machine software testing via closed loop HIL testing Helping to improve documentation tying specs to software test results and improving overall regression coverage over time Interacting and collaborating with a wide range of engineering groups and professionals to develop innovative tools and processes to increase lab test effectivity

Educational Requirements

Must have BS or 4 year Technology degree in Engineering or Computer Science discipline (MS preferred but not required)

Technical Skills

Desired Qualifications: dSPACE Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) based testing including Automation Desk (Preferred but not required) C-code development (Preferred but not required) Python scripting Automated regression testing of software (Preferred but not required) Construction equipment development or test (Preferred but not required) Critical thinking to discern ways in which embedded software quality can be improved via test automation methods and innovations required for effective lab software testing
