Kforce Project Manager (PMO COE) in Pekin, Illinois

A Kforce client in Peoria, Illinois (IL) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their growing team within their PMO. This role is responsible for planning, monitoring, and delivery of project work. Success will be measured by the ability to complete a project on-time, within budget and to business unit's requirements in building out the structure for the new PMO being established.Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate the creation of:

  • Project Charter

  • Work Breakdown Structure

  • Responsibility Matrix

  • Project Schedule and Plan

  • Assist sponsors in developing a Project Proposal Packet

  • Manage the project planning process

  • Estimate task duration

  • Control the execution of a project

  • Maintain the project plan through the life of the project

  • Track the project budget

  • Identify and track project risks

  • Assist the organization in learning from project experiences for future project execution

  • Capture and report metrics on the project progress and performance

  • Work with functional managers to determine required personnel with proper skills to establish a project team

  • Help identify and work with stakeholders

  • Maintain all documentation for the project

  • Execute change control procedures to manage scope of project

  • Present project status to business leaders

  • Other tasks as assigned by manager

  • Bachelor degree preferred, Associate degree with equivalent experience considered

  • Experience in building best practices & methodologies for a Program Management Office

  • 5 years' experience providing leadership for company-wide projects

  • Ability to present concepts clearly and plainly

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • PMI Certification preferred but not required

  • Ability to plan, organize and schedule the activities of staff

  • Experience assigning, delegating and directing the work of others

  • Ability to set standards and measure production

  • Ability to work with people and work under stress

  • Knowledge of personnel practices, time management and negotiation

  • Ability to lead, oversee and supervise the activities of others

  • Skilled at executing and carrying out company directives

  • Excellent reasoning abilities

  • Skilled at confronting and supporting staff

  • Must have wide range of experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies and principals and can articulate examples of projects that you have been involved in both and outcome based performance in both
