You will assist with the efficient operation of each of our domestic manufacturing facilities by procuring new automation and ensuring that all automation is operational. This is includes the planning, developing, and overseeing the installation of large and small projects as well as completing the qualification of all new automation.
You will contribute to project work with engineering tasks and data analysis. You will supervise, coordinate and review the work of other employees and contractors assigned to your projects. You will be responsible for schedule, budget and staffing estimates as well as overall quality of work.
You will be responsible for generating specifications for new automation machines, approve designs of new automation machines, work to develop improvements to all existing automation machines, procurement of purchase orders for automation projects, production startup related to automation projects and assist with troubleshooting new and existing automation equipment.
Our work is project based and involves facility design, lean manufacturing, process design, analysis and improvement, materials management, inventory replenishment, selection and implementation, resource capacity and utilization studies, and operational efficiency.
You will lead their projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery that meets or exceeds expectations.
Identify lean manufacturing opportunities and create designs and implementation plans for the elimination of waste, increased utilization of resources and improved operational efficiencies
The Automation Project Engineer reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
Bachelors in Engineering with minimum five years of relevant project management and/or engineering experience.
Project experience in automation, maintenance, electrical and mechanical system design and construction.
Comply with company safety procedures. Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence.
Provide timely and detailed status updates.
Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes.
Knowledgeable in then use of AutoCAD and/or Solid Works.
Excellent supervisory skills.
Very strong working with MS suite to include MS Project.
Creative problem solving a must.
Must be a self-starter, team player, and multi-tasker.
Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Bright mechanical mind, ability to develop innovative designs.
Excellent Budgeting skills along with Project Financial Management.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays to meet project commitments.
Must be willing to travel to all manufacturing facilities to perform responsibilities as project engineer. Travel will be 50% of the time and may be for extended periods of time depending on the size of the project.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen, employment history verification, and records check.
