Typical Day: A typical day will start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. The Senior Engineer may attend a couple of meetings per day,but a majority of the work will be as an individual contributor. Education/Experience:-Master''s or PhD in mechanical engineering with a focus on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or chemical reaction -Graduate level combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics -Candidates must be FIVE years beyond their undergraduate education (i.e. Master''s + 3 years in industry or PhD) -Extensive experience with 3D CFD tools (FLUENT, STAR-CD) and simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, GT-Suite, etc.)Desired Qualifications:-Experience with developing CFD solver -Engine aftertreatment related experience (spray and reaction, multiphase flow, phase-change, and catalyst reactions) -Knowledge of AT system (DOC, DPF, SCR, and DEF systems) -Experience solving complex problems -Initiative in supporting the success of a team (i.e. collaboration & people skills) -Ability to understand and write computer algorithms (C, Simulink, etc) -Practical understanding of engines (hobby racing, SAE, etc) -Proven ability to meet schedule commitments -Ability to communicate performance tradeoffs to a broader engineering team (especially in written form) Soft Skills: Proven ability to meet schedule commitments.
