This Section Manager position leads a team and supervises people in manufacturing electric drive components and assemblies in Building H located in Mossville, IL. In this position you will ensure safety practices are followed to maximize efficiency in quality, velocity and cost.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:- Monitoring and improving shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes/practices and addressing unsafe behaviors- Practicing, teaching and implementing Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CPS principles and Internal Certifications- Leading daily kick off meetings and driving continuous improvement based on data and prescribed metrics performance- Assisting with training, implementing, creating and modifying standardized work processes and documentation- Escalating resolution of issues that require additional or external resources- Responding to quality or delivery concerns and assisting or leading the root cause identification and implementation of corrective action- Assuring that standard work process are followed to meet production schedules ensuring safety, quality, velocity and cost targets- Prioritizing resources and sequences jobs by adjusting staffing to meet production and customer requirements- Initiating and conducting process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and other Team Members- Monitoring and auditing PQVC metrics continuously and reports out via meetings and walks- Demonstrating sound leadership and improving employee engagement, values, inclusion, etc. by working with team members to create an action plan based on Employee Insights and MGL results- Determining and executing disciplinary action when appropriate- Ensuring Operator Performed Maintenance and preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule- Increasing production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination, by identifying root cause and eliminating waste reoccurrence- Engaging in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic/safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks and quality concerns- Providing manufacturing technical support in process control (Pinpoint)- Providing technical expertise to solve production problems or pursuing operations improvements Provide feedback to Product Design and NPI teams on voice of manufacturing and lessons learned.Required Qualifications:- Associates degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Logistics OR 3 + years of manufacturing / assembly experience- 2 + years or more Supervisory or Team Lead experience- Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc) Desired Qualifications:- Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside of the department- Demonstrated leadership skills from previous roles or job assignments- Ability to work with and influence a diverse group of employees and customers, such as Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Test Engineer, Production Scheduler and various stakeholders and process partners- Strong organizational and time management skills- Bachelor degree, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering related discipline- Prior experience in planning/manufacturing engineering and or working in a manufacturing environment- 2 + years of supervisory experience leading teams across multiple employee categories / payrolls in manufacturing sections to maximize efficiency in quality, velocity and cost- 3 + years of electric motor manufacturing or design experience- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts related to electric drive components - This is a second shift position, ability to cover overtime work schedules as necessary based upon demand Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
