Description

Volt is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer.

Test Engineer: The CTCT test/automated test engineer is responsible for testing and validation of the Terrain for Grading and Loading on-board software as well as creating automated test scripts to validate the same. Terrain for Grading and Loading uses a combination of hardware and software to provide a highly advanced method of performing earthmoving tasks. The hardware is used to transmit, receive and process the data for the system and the software provides the machine operator with information about a task to be performed. The system is used on a number of different machine types including: rope shovels, excavators, hydraulic front shovels, motor graders, track-type tractors and wheel loaders. The Terrain for Grading and Loading system uses an on-board display module to provide real-time information to an operator. As the operator works, a satellite positioning system continually updates the terrain and the position information of the machine on a design plan. A color-coded work plan informs the operator of the progress that is being made. The on-board display, combined with the data transmitted electronically from the on-board software, greatly improves the productivity of the operator. The site supervisor also uses additional on-board software utilities to access productivity information. These utilities allow the site supervisor to make informed, strategic decisions regarding the allocation of resources and time.
